Catharanthus roseus or Madagascar periwinkle is an evergreen tender perennial (a perennial that is sensitive to cold temperature). But don’t mistake it for a softy. These low maintenance plants are known to survive and thrive in various soil types and levels of shades. They flourish in adverse conditions like intense heat, high humidity, drought… just not cold.

Available in a variety of colors, its plentiful and long blooming flowers, as well as its attractive, glossy foliage makes it a popular contender as ground cover in beds, bedding, borders and even as a houseplant.
